Intensity of Services
Patients at Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington are expected to participate in at least 3 hours of therapy per day, 5 days per week. On average, our patients participate in 3 to 4 hours of therapy each day Monday through Friday and a lesser amount of therapy on Saturday and Sunday. In certain special circumstances patients will not be required to participate in 3 hours of therapy per day, but these cases are rare. For example, patients receiving dialysis or chemotherapy – these patients will participate in 15 hours of therapy over a 7-day period. (An average of 2 to 2.5 hours of therapy per day). If a patient is too ill or unable to participate in this level of therapy due to medical complications, the patient may be discharged to a more appropriate level of care. This is not done immediately, as often times a patient can recover in one to two days and begin fully participating again.
